Target Audience Research

Click on Questionairre for link to take it.

These Results are based on a Paper version that we gave to 30 people around Sixth Form ans Staff, we tried to make it fairly even across the genders so we get a view from both sides of the equation.

We managed to give the questionnaire to a few staff around the school so we could get some other ages views, but predominantly young because that is our Target Demographic.

When we looked at the Genres that people enjoy, we already knew that we were Making a social realism film, but we asked this to see what type of film the demograghic would like to see adapted into the story.

We wanted to know if the people taking this survey, watched a lot of films to see if they knew what they were talking about in a way. Running on the basis if they watch a lot of films they will appreciate a good one.

We found if quite interesting when talking as a group that you interpret films differently depending on who you are with, for instance comedy alone you dont laugh out loud as much, so we wanted to see what others did.

We knew we wouldnt have some of these options so we wanted to see if they were important to make somebody want to watch them. For instance we wont have a famous cast so how would we draw them in.

We didnt think that social realism was a very popular answer but from the answer to question 3, people clearly do like it, so we wanted to know how many they watched to see if they know the genre well.

We asked this as a follow on from question 7, to see what type of social realismm films they have seen, This is England and Kidulthood being the most popular, as we feel these are the ones most relevant and well known.

These Results are based on a Paper version that we gave to 30 people around Sixth Form ans Staff, we tried to make it fairly even across the genders so we get a view from both sides of the equation.

Although we gathered this from the answer to the previous question this just clears up that the audience want to watch a serious social realism rather than a light hearted one.
